About Krista ~ Origins of a Third Generation Astrologer
For my professional bio see the home page
Being a third generation astrologer, I grew up with astrology informing my everyday life for as long as I can remember. A chart for my moment of birth was hand cast when I was born by my fathers sister, my Aunt Roselda. My aunt learned esoteric astrology from her mother, my paternal grandmother Bertha. Bertha was a student of metaphysics, gifted photographer, and trance medium. My aunt kept tracked of every important event in my life, meticulously noted in tiny hand writing on my paper chart. She did this for our entire family. Today these paper charts are cherished possessions, as well as all of the family’s esoteric, metaphysical, and astrological collection of books dating from the early 20th century. These include Alice Bailey, Alan Leo, Max Heindel, Rosicrucian series, and my favorite, the first edition of Yoganada’s Autobiography of a Yogi, which I probably read three times by the time I was 15.
At about the age of 8 (first Saturn square) my aunt started teaching me how to cast a chart, and do astrology. When I discovered how much mathematics was involved in this art, I was very disheartened, and rebelled (four planets in Aquarius) and let her do the hand casting for many years to come. I was happy to focus on the astrology reading itself, and I today still give thanks for the ease of chart calculations with computers. In my family all important transactions, events, and travel where done after a chart was cast. In those days astrology was very black and white, good and bad, nothing like today's expansive, and evolved view of astrology and the world, which is much more in harmony with my spirit and soul.
For years I did astrology for fun for friends before beginning my career as a professional in the late 1980s.
I am blessed by my family, and ancestors in my work as I carry on the linage as an intuitive, healer, and astrologer.
